Ekweremadu: Southeast governors fire back, say they won’t apologise to IPOB

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state declared that the southeast governors have no apology to tender to the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The Nation reports that the IPOB had recently made some demands from the governors including open apology in an open letter.
Legit.ng gathered that while briefing the State House correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Umahi on Thursday, September 5, said: “We have no apology to tender.”
The governor also noted that the southeast governors did not proscribe IPOB because it didn’t have the power to do so.
He also said IPOB lacked the power to issue travel ban to the southeast governors.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the police in Germany said investigation was still ongoing over the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu by members of IPOB.
It was reported that Robert Sandmann, who is the first chief commissioner of police said they took every action they could to protect the senator as he added that the police chief said the organisers had intimated them on possible attack.
Legit.ng had also reported that the Nigerian ambassador to Germany, Yusuf Tuggar, rejected the stance of the German police that the attack on Senator Ekweremadu by members of the IPOB group was just a protest.
It was reported that Tuggar stated that the incident could not be explained as just a protest.
